Lord, you know we need acceptance, understanding, and the ability to relate to others personally. Help us to look to You for such things rather then to men (to fill up the gap you have placed in us only with You), to avoid the possibility of the possibility of growing up or beyond becoming a dumpster fire.

Help us to realize when others are putting us on a pedestal, so we can correct them; and when we are putting others on one, so that we will not be disillusioned.
When others intentionally or otherwise hurt us/move away, help us to forgive, to grieve perhaps, and to receive and accept the comfort that You will give us in time.
And when we close ourselves off due to past hurt or believing we don’t need others, may we remain open to You and follow You, so that we do not waste the years that You have granted us.

Lastly, as we seek to love others as You love us, if we are doing it to be accepted, help us to realize that, and to be satisfied with Your love that was present even before we started doing all these things.
